Inside a ChempakaSense node.

Each node is a compact edge device that measures vibration, RPM, 3-phase electrical parameters and power quality — then streams curated features to the cloud for AI analytics.

Vibration · Accelerometer RPM · Encoder / tachometer 3-phase V & I · CT & VT inputs Sampling up to 100 kHz (lab)
EDGE ARCHITECTURE
ESP32-S3 · Secure MQTT
MCU: ESP32-S3, dual-core
Comms: Wi-Fi / 4G via modem
Storage: SD card for buffering

Edge + cloud hybrid — heavy FFT / AI runs in the cloud, with on-node thresholds for fast alarms.

Designed for hot, dusty electrical rooms — with industrial connectors and clear separation between high-voltage and logic.

Measurement & processing pipeline

From raw sensor signals to usable AI features — optimised for motors, pumps, compressors, blowers and chillers in Malaysian factories.

1 · Sensing

Vibration & RPM

Industrial accelerometers mounted near bearings capture vibration in mm/s and g. Optional shaft encoder / tachometer reads RPM for speed tracking and order analysis.

  • RMS, peak, crest factor
  • FFT & envelope for bearing faults
  • Speed normalisation using RPM
2 · Electrical

Current, voltage & PQ

3-phase CT & VT inputs feed isolated ADCs for current, voltage, power and power-quality measurements.

  • RMS V & I, P, Q, S, PF
  • THD (V/I) & harmonic snapshots
  • Unbalance & phase-sequence checks
3 · Edge processing

Feature extraction & streaming

The node extracts features on a sliding window, tags them with timestamp, machine ID and operating state, then streams to the cloud.

  • Windowed RMS / FFT summaries
  • Configurable sampling & upload interval
  • Local thresholds for fast alarms

Connectivity, safety & deployment

ChempakaSense is designed to fit into existing MCC rooms and factory layouts without disrupting your switchboards.

Connectivity

From panel to cloud

  • MQTT over TLS to ChempakaSense cloud
  • Supports Wi-Fi or external 4G/5G modem
  • Buffered to SD card if network drops
Safety & installation

Built for real switchboards

  • Separated low-voltage & high-voltage zones
  • Works with split-core CTs and Rogowski coils
  • Suitable for MCC panels & outdoor skids
